Hello! My name is Kristi Petrinovich, better known as Mrs. P around school. I teach 6th grade and I love it! I have taught at 5 different schools since I started teaching. I taught at Mary Tsukamoto Elementary for nearly 18 years, most recently I was at Roy Herburger Elementary for 3 years and I am super excited to be starting my 2nd year at Markofer!
My husband, Mr. P, is leaving 6th grade at Feikert Elementary to teach Resource at Kerr Middle School this year. We have two amazing children (pictured above). Abe is 20 years old and Ella is 18. Abegraduated from Calvine High School in 2021 and Ella just graduated from Elk Grove High School in 2023. They are a lot of fun and definitely keep us on our toes. Ruth is our fiesty 1 year old kitty and has kept us busy all summer bringing in many different "catches" from the yard! I attended and graduated from California State University at Monterey Bay (CSUMB) with my BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Human Communications. I then moved to Sacramento, CA to attend and graduate from California State University Sacramento (CSUS) with my Multiple Subject Credential (to teach K-6th grade), my Specialist Credential - Mild/Moderate, and my MA (Master of Arts) in Education with an emphasis in Special Education. Go Otters & Hornets! I grew up in Visalia, CA, which is in the Central Valley. I still keep in touch with many of my friends from Crestwood Elementary, Divisadero Middle School and Mt. Whitney High School. Before going to CSUMB, I attended Jr. College in Visalia for 2 years at College of the Sequoias (COS). I earned my AA (Associated Arts degree) there while playing tennis on the COS Tennis Team! Now, I spend my days either managing my fantastic 6th grade classroom or our home. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I LOVE to doodle, color, paint, draw and crochet. I also sew and refashion clothes as well as upcycle old things to be used in new ways! I am an avid reader and I drink a lot of tea and coffee when I am home...and when I am at school :) I do Pilates several times a week and really enjoy camping with my family. See our new 13' Scamp trailer that Mr. P and Ella just picked up in Bacchus, Minnesota! This is going to be quite and upgrade for us, and will be well loved, especially when we go to Yachats, OR (central coast) for our annual 2 week trip every summer. |
